A recent CBS News/YouGov poll has unveiled that a significant majority of Americans are worried about the immediate effects of President Donald Trump's tariffs on prices. Specifically, 75% of respondents anticipate a short-term increase in prices, with only a mere 5% disagreeing with this outlook.

Long-Term Economic Effects Uncertain

While nearly half of the participants, 48%, believe that prices will also rise in the long term, opinions on the overall economic impact are more divided. 65% fear that the tariffs will worsen the economy in the short term, whereas 8% are optimistic about positive outcomes. Interestingly, 49% see the tariffs as a potential boost for job creation in the United States.
