Lucid Group Expands Its Footprint in Arizona

In a significant move to bolster its manufacturing capabilities, Lucid Group, Inc. has announced its agreement to acquire the former facilities of Nikola Corporation in Arizona. This acquisition, which is subject to approval by the US Bankruptcy Court, includes the Coolidge and Phoenix sites, thereby adding more than 884,000 square feet to Lucid's operational space.

A Boost for Employment and Arizona's EV Industry

As part of this expansion, Lucid is set to offer employment to over 300 former Nikola employees, filling various technical and manufacturing roles. This initiative not only underscores Lucid's commitment to the local workforce but also highlights the growing importance of Arizona in the electric vehicle (EV) and battery manufacturing sector.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs praised the announcement, stating, "Today's announcement is fantastic news for Arizona workers and our state's growing EV and battery manufacturing industry."
