The United Kingdom's industrial production experienced a notable increase of 1.5% in February, as reported by the Office for National Statistics this Friday. This growth signals a positive shift in the country's economic landscape.

Manufacturing and electricity and gas sectors were the primary contributors to this upward trend, with impressive jumps of 2.2% and 2%, respectively. On the other hand, the mining and quarrying sector faced a downturn, recording a 3% decrease.

Looking at the broader picture, the total production saw a 0.7% increase in the three months leading up to February 2025, compared to the previous quarter. Furthermore, when compared to February 2024, there was a slight 0.1% rise in production figures.
