Historic Agreement Seals the Deal for Universal's European Debut
In a landmark announcement, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer revealed a groundbreaking agreement with Comcast Corp.'s Universal Destinations & Experiences. This deal paves the way for the first Universal-branded theme park in Europe, set to transform Bedfordshire into a hub of entertainment and economic growth.
Economic Boost and Job Creation at the Heart of the Project
Starmer emphasized the project's potential to inject an estimated £50 billion into the UK economy, alongside creating 28,000 jobs. "This is our Plan for Change in action — bringing investment, security, opportunity, growth, jobs, and joy to Britain," he stated on X, highlighting the multifaceted benefits of the initiative.
A New Era for Entertainment in Europe
The theme park, part of a sprawling 476-acre entertainment resort complex, is expected to attract around 8.5 million visitors in its inaugural year. The resort will also feature a 500-room hotel, marking a significant milestone in Europe's entertainment and tourism landscape.
