Mahindra and Airbus Forge Landmark Partnership to Manufacture H130 Helicopter Fuselages in India

In a significant boost to Prime Minister Modi's 'Make in India' initiative, Airbus Helicopters has awarded Mahindra Aerostructures a contract to manufacture the main fuselage assembly of the H130 helicopter in India. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in India's industrial and aviation development.

Union aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu hailed the partnership as a testament to global confidence in India's industrial potential. The first cabin assembly is slated for delivery by March 2027, with work commencing immediately.

Rémi Maillard, President & MD of Airbus in India and South Asia, emphasized Airbus's strategic plan for India, aiming to develop a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem. This includes assembly, manufacturing, engineering, and innovation. The H130 fuselage manufacturing contract underscores Airbus's confidence in India's supply chain capabilities.

About the H130 Helicopter

The H130 is a versatile, single-engine helicopter designed for passenger transport, tourism, private and business aviation, as well as medical airlift and surveillance missions. It can accommodate the pilot and up to seven passengers.
