In a groundbreaking announcement, IT & electronics minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed the upcoming launch of a new Aadhaar app featuring face ID authentication. This innovative app aims to eliminate the need for physical Aadhaar cards and photocopies, offering users a seamless and secure way to verify their identity.

The minister emphasized that the app empowers users with complete control over their personal information, allowing them to share only necessary data with a simple tap. Currently in the beta testing phase, the app promises to make Aadhaar verification as straightforward as making a UPI payment.

With the new Aadhaar app, users can digitally verify and share their details by scanning a QR code or through a requesting application. This advancement means no more handing over Aadhaar photocopies at hotel receptions, shops, or during travel, significantly reducing the risk of data misuse or leaks.
