Unemployment Rate Holds Steady

The unemployment rate saw a minimal shift from 4.1% to 4.2%, maintaining the number of unemployed individuals at around 7.1 million.

Sector-wise Employment Trends

Healthcare led the charge in job creation, adding 54,000 positions, closely followed by social assistance and retail trade, each contributing 24,000 jobs. Conversely, federal government employment experienced a decline of 4,000 jobs.

Wage and Workweek Statistics

Average hourly earnings saw a modest increase of nine cents, or 0.3%, bringing the figure to $36.00. The average workweek duration remained unchanged at 34.2 hours.
