Following the announcement by United States President Donald Trump of a 25% tariff on all cars manufactured outside the United States, major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region showed mixed reactions on Thursday.

Japan's Nikkei 225 experienced a decline, dropping 0.95% by 3:24 am CET. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng saw a modest increase of 0.39% at 03:25 am CET. South Korea's Kospi wasn't spared, falling 0.97% by 3:26 am CET. In contrast, mainland China's Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Composite remained stable, trading flat at 3:27 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 also decreased, down by 0.50% at 3:28 am CET.
Currency Impact
The dollar's value against the yen dipped slightly, trading 0.21% lower at 3:29 am CET, with a selling price of 150.26350.
