Musk emphasized on X, "Important to note that Tesla is NOT unscathed here. The tariff impact on Tesla is still significant," highlighting the challenges Tesla faces amidst these changes.

Details of the New Tariffs

Announced on Wednesday, the 25% tariff targets all cars imported into the US, with a subsequent clarification from the White House extending this rate to foreign auto parts. However, parts complying with the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will temporarily avoid these tariffs. The commerce secretary, in collaboration with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is tasked with developing a method to apply tariffs to non-US content in these parts.
