The network reported that Shabat was in his car when the attack occurred. Al Jazeera has vowed to take legal action against those responsible for attacks on journalists, stating, "Al Jazeera affirms its commitment to pursue all legal measures to prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes against journalists."
