B Capital's Strategic Focus on India's Startup Ecosystem
Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook, and his global investment firm B Capital are intensifying their investment efforts in India. The firm is particularly interested in early to mid-stage startups, with investments ranging from $1 to $15 million. Karan Mohla, a general partner at B Capital, emphasized the quality of businesses being built by Indian founders as a key reason for this strategic focus.

Investment Trends and Opportunities
More than half of B Capital's investments in India are directed towards startups leveraging AI as a core technology. Additionally, sectors like deep tech and climate tech are expected to receive a significant portion of the capital. According to Mohla, the firm sees immense opportunity in AI-driven innovation and transformative technologies, which are reshaping industries and positioning India as a resilient market.
Global Investment Climate
Despite the cautious approach of big global funds towards investments, B Capital remains optimistic about the opportunities in India. The firm has previously backed several local startups, including Meesho, PharmEasy, and BlackBuck, showcasing its commitment to the Indian market. With a $750 million fund closed early last year, B Capital is well-positioned to support the next generation of high-quality startups in India.
