Inside Sarthi: A Digital Transformation

Launched in January 2023, Sarthi has revolutionized internal workflows by enabling secure document sharing, enhanced data analysis, and improved record management across RBI’s extensive network of over 13,500 employees in more than 40 locations.

Pravaah: Streamlining Regulatory Applications

Following the success of Sarthi, Pravaah was introduced in May 2024 to digitize external regulatory applications, significantly enhancing efficiency and transparency for over 70 different regulatory processes. Its seamless integration with Sarthi has streamlined the submission process, offering real-time tracking and analytics, thereby reducing delays associated with paper-based systems.

Since the launch of Pravaah, the RBI has witnessed an 80% increase in monthly applications, marking a pivotal moment in the central bank’s journey towards digital excellence.

Leadership and Vision

Leading this transformative project was Shailendra Trivedi, the RBI’s IT department head. Trivedi highlighted the strategic focus from the top management on leveraging cloud technology and new data centers to make the RBI agile and future-proof.
