These closures are in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, which designate certain days as holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, based on local traditions and customs.
March 13 & 14, 2025: Holi Celebrations Impact Bank Operations
On March 13, 2025, banks in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand will be closed for Holika Dahan, a significant Hindu festival marking the 'burning of Holika'. The following day, March 14, 2025, will see banks closed in numerous states including Gujarat, Orissa, Chandigarh, and more, for Holi celebrations.

March 15, 2025: Second Day of Holi/Yaosang
While March 15, 2025, is a working day being the third Saturday, banks in Tripura, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Manipur will remain closed as per the RBI website.
Despite these physical branch closures, digital banking services, including UPI payments and ATM operations, will remain operational. Bank customers are advised to plan their branch visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
