OPEC Maintains Global Growth Forecast at 3.1% for 2025 Amid Economic Uncertainties

Steady Global Economic Growth Forecast by OPEC

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has kept its global economic growth forecast for 2025 and 2026 steady at 3.1% and 3.2%, respectively, mirroring the previous month's predictions.

US and Eurozone GDP Projections

According to the latest report, the United States' Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth is anticipated to remain at 2.4% in 2025 and 2.3% in 2026, unchanged from February's estimates. Similarly, the Eurozone's GDP is expected to grow by 0.9% this year and 1.1% next year, consistent with last month's forecast.

China's Economic Outlook

China's economic forecast also remains stable, with growth rates projected at 4.7% for 2025 and 4.6% for 2026, unchanged from the previous report.

Potential Impacts of Tariffs and Policy Measures

OPEC highlighted the uncertainty surrounding potential tariffs and other policy measures, stating, "It remains to be seen how and to what extent potential tariffs and other policy measures will play out. While they are not expected to significantly impact current growth assumptions, the outcome of rising uncertainties and the scope of potential tariffs and policy measures require close monitoring."
