Rural Markets Show Promising Recovery Signs

According to Sudhir Sitapati, MD & CEO of Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL), the recovery in rural consumption is expected to outpace that of urban areas. "Rural markets have shown signs of picking up, which was somewhat offset by a weaker performance in urban areas during Q3 of FY25," Sitapati explained.

Factors Influencing Urban Consumption

He pointed out specific factors that impacted urban consumption in the third quarter, including food inflation, which has seen a significant reduction in Q4. This shift suggests a faster rural recovery compared to urban areas, as Sitapati anticipates a more robust bounce-back in rural demand.
