ECB's Nagel Stresses on Solid Public Finances

Joachim Nagel, a member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and President of Deutsche Bundesbank (Buba), highlighted the necessity of maintaining robust public finances in both the Eurozone and Germany during his speech at the Berlin School of Economics.
Proposals for Germany's Growth Path
Nagel presented a twelve-point plan aimed at setting Germany on a structurally higher growth trajectory. His proposals include easing the process of business founding, enhancing workers' rights and well-being, facilitating the energy transition, and integrating European energy markets to boost competitiveness.
The Role of European Integration
"Leveraging the common internal market's potential is vital for enhancing Europe's competitiveness," Nagel stated. He emphasized that European integration involves exploring new territories, which, despite its challenges, is a worthwhile endeavor.
