State Bank of Vietnam Lowers Reference Rate

The State Bank of Vietnam has made a slight reduction in its reference rate by 0.05%, setting it at VND24,738. This move is indicative of the bank's response to the current economic climate and currency valuation trends.

Unofficial Exchange Points See Increase

Contrary to the official adjustments, unofficial exchange points have seen a 0.21% increase in the selling rate of the US dollar, quoting it at VND25,885. This discrepancy highlights the diverse dynamics at play within the currency exchange market.

Global Impact on the US Dollar

On a global scale, the US dollar is experiencing a downturn, reaching a four-month low against a basket of major currencies. This shift is partly due to the US administration's decision to grant a one-month reprieve on auto import levies to Canada and Mexico, showcasing the volatile nature of trade relations and their impact on currency values.

Meanwhile, the euro has remained steady at $1.0792 in the Asian morning, after briefly touching $1.0803, marking its highest point since November 8. The US dollar index has also seen little change, standing at 104.31 after easing to 104.25 overnight, its lowest since November 8.
