In a recent report published by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty (MINEFA), France's trade deficit has seen a notable increase, reaching €6.5 billion in January. This marks a significant rise from the €3.9 billion recorded in December.

Exports and Imports Trends

Exports experienced a decrease, dropping by €1.4 billion to €49.8 billion on a month-to-month basis. Conversely, imports saw an increase of €0.7 billion, totaling €56.4 billion for the month.

Energy and Manufactured Goods Balance

The energy balance worsened by €0.1 billion, resulting in a negative balance of €3.3 billion in December 2024. Meanwhile, the balance for manufactured goods slightly improved by €0.1 billion, though it remained negative at €2.3 billion.
