Record-Breaking Year for Lufthansa
Deutsche Lufthansa AG has announced a remarkable achievement in its fiscal 2024 fourth quarter, with revenues reaching €9.4 billion, marking a 7.8% increase from the previous year. This growth contributes to a historic full-year revenue of €37.6 billion, the highest in the company's history.
Operational Success and Future Outlook
The German aviation giant reported an operating income of €10.4 billion for the quarter, a 7% rise from 2023. Despite a significant 666.7% jump in earnings per share (EPS) to €0.46 in Q4, the annual EPS saw a 17.9% decrease to €1.15.
CFO Till Streichert expressed optimism for the future, stating, "We anticipate a moderate capacity growth of around 4 percent this year. This strategy is expected to bolster revenue growth, secure market shares, stabilize earnings, and enhance operational efficiency. However, challenges such as aircraft delivery delays and ongoing cost pressures remain."
