Stellantis Faces Competitive Hurdles with New US Tariffs

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Stellantis N.V. has communicated to its US retailers that the imposition of 25% tariffs on all imports from Canada and Mexico by the US administration places its brands, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, at a competitive disadvantage. This is in contrast to European and Asian carmakers, which are not currently subjected to similar tariffs.
Stellantis is actively engaging in discussions with the Trump administration to alleviate the impact of these tariffs. The automaker has significant production interests in the affected regions, with six facilities in Canada and seven in Mexico.
