Sebi's New Leadership and Vision
MUMBAI: Tuhin Kanta Pandey, a seasoned bureaucrat and the former finance secretary to the central government, has officially taken the helm as the 11th chairperson of Sebi this Saturday. Succeeding Madhabi Puri Buch, whose impactful three-year tenure concluded on Friday, Pandey is set to steer the market regulator with a clear vision and renewed vigor.

Four Pillars of Sebi's Future
In his initial address to the media, Pandey outlined four distinct objectives that will guide Sebi's operations moving forward. "Our mission is to foster trust, ensure transparency, promote teamwork, and leverage technology. We are committed to establishing Sebi as one of the premier market institutions globally," he stated emphatically.
An Odisha cadre IAS officer, Pandey's appointment as chairman is for a term of three years, during which he aims to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors and navigate the complexities of the financial markets with a steady hand.
