The total number of unemployed individuals slightly increased to 2,989,000, marking a rise of 5,000 from the previous month but still below analysts' expectations.

Compared to February of the previous year, unemployment has seen an uptick of 175,000 people. Additionally, underemployment, which includes those unable to work short-term, rose to 3,731,000 or 7.9%, showing a slight increase from the month before and a more significant rise compared to the same period last year.
