Rising Fuel Prices in Vietnam: A Direct Impact of Global Tensions and Sanctions

Recent Increase in Fuel Prices

In Vietnam, the cost of RON95 fuel has seen a notable increase of 0.72%, reaching VND21,070. Similarly, Biofuel E5 RON92 prices have risen by 0.73% to VND20,590, and diesel prices have experienced a slight uptick of 0.10%, now at VND19,070.

Global Influences on Local Markets

According to regulators, the recent fluctuations in fuel prices over the past week are directly linked to several international factors. These include the U.S. sanctions on Iran's oil, escalating tensions in the Middle East, and China's response to the latest U.S. tariff increases. These global events have led to a 0.3% increase in gasoline prices and a 0.4-2.4% rise in oil prices during this period.

Currently, RON95 is priced at $86.4 per barrel, with diesel at $91.3 per barrel, reflecting the ongoing impact of these international tensions on Vietnam's fuel market.
