Wall Street Extends Losses as Dow Drops Significantly

On a turbulent Friday, Wall Street saw its indexes extend losses, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average taking a significant hit, plunging more than 400 points. This downturn comes amid growing concerns over the Trump administration's tariff policies, including threats to impose reciprocal duties on trading partners.
Investors also reacted to the latest jobs report, which revealed that the US added 143,000 nonfarm payrolls in January, a figure that fell short of analysts' expectations. The Dow Jones slid 0.92% or 410 points by 2:11 pm ET, while the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 also saw declines, dropping 1.21% and 0.92%, respectively.
In currency markets, the euro experienced a 0.56% loss against the dollar, trading at 1.03314 by 2:17 pm ET.
