Amazon Faces Legal Setback: Court Rules in Favor of Nokia in Patent Infringement Case

Amazon Ordered to Cease Use of Nokia's Streaming Patent

In a landmark decision, the Duesseldorf Regional Court has ruled that Amazon.com Inc. has infringed upon a patent owned by Nokia Corp. This patent is crucial for streaming services, and the court has mandated Amazon to stop its unauthorized use immediately.

Nokia's Response: "We are pleased with the court's decision and anticipate Amazon will comply by securing a license under fair terms," stated Nokia in a press release to Wirtschaftswoche. This legal victory for Nokia comes after the Finnish tech giant initiated lawsuits against Amazon in 2023 across Germany, the United Kingdom, and the European Union's Unified Patent Court.
