Intel Corporation has reported a 7% decrease in its fourth-quarter revenue for the fiscal year 2024, amounting to $14.3 billion. The GAAP diluted loss per share also saw a significant drop, reaching $0.03, which is a 105% decrease from the previous year.
Annual Revenue and Future Outlook
For the full year, Intel's revenue was $53.1 billion, showing a 2% decrease compared to the previous year. The GAAP diluted loss per share for 2024 was $4.38, a stark contrast to $0.40 in the prior year. Looking ahead, Intel anticipates its first-quarter 2025 revenue to be between $11.7 billion and $12.7 billion.
Leadership's Perspective on the Results
David Zinsner, Intel's interim co-CEO, commented on the company's performance, stating, "The cost reduction plan we announced last year to improve the trajectory of the company is having an impact." He also mentioned that the Q1 outlook is influenced by "seasonal weakness" and is further complicated by broader economic uncertainties, ongoing inventory adjustments, and competitive dynamics.

Following the announcement of these financial results, Intel's shares experienced a 1.85% increase in the after-hours trading session at 4:20 pm ET.
