Amazon Announces Job Reductions in Fashion and Fitness Group
In a recent development, Amazon.com Inc. has reportedly decided to eliminate approximately 200 positions within its Fashion and Fitness group. This decision was disclosed through internal communications on the company's Slack channel, as reported by Business Insider on Thursday.
Company's Statement on Organizational Adjustments
"We continuously evaluate our team structures to ensure we're optimally positioned to innovate swiftly for our customers," an Amazon spokesperson commented, according to the report. "As part of these evaluations, we've restructured parts of our North America Stores team to better align with our priorities. Unfortunately, this restructuring has led to the difficult decision to eliminate a small number of roles. We are fully committed to supporting those affected during this transition," the spokesperson added.
Unrelated to Previous Service Closure
It's important to note that these job cuts are not connected to the earlier announcement of the closure of Amazon's "Try Before You Buy" service, which allowed customers to trial up to six items before making a purchase.
