BMW Faces 4% Sales Decline in 2024 Yet Electric Vehicle Sales Surge

BMW Group Reports a 4% Decrease in Vehicle Deliveries for 2024

In a recent report released on Monday, the BMW Group announced a 4% decrease in vehicle deliveries for the year 2024, with a total of 2,450,804 vehicles delivered. Despite this downturn, the company highlighted a significant surge in fully electric vehicle sales.

Electric Vehicle Sales See a Remarkable Increase

The automaker revealed a 13.5% jump in fully electric vehicle sales, reaching 426,594 units. The BMW brand alone delivered 368,523 fully electric vehicles, marking an 11.36% increase from the previous year. MINI electric car sales also saw a substantial rise of 24.3%, totaling 56,181 units. Notably, Rolls-Royce's electric vehicle sales experienced an extraordinary growth of 479.6%, with 1,890 units sold.

Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales, commented on the growth trajectory, stating, "The BMW Group is maintaining its growth trajectory for fully-electric vehicles amid challenging market conditions. This is reflected in both the significant sales growth for fully-electric vehicles and the clear rise in new BEV orders in Europe."
