Budget 2025: A New Horizon for Taxpayers
As the Union Budget 2025 approaches, the anticipation among the middle class for income tax relief is palpable. RSS-affiliated organizations have stepped forward with a series of proposals aimed at reshaping the financial landscape for the average Indian citizen.
Key Proposals on the Table: Among the most talked-about suggestions is the increase of the tax-free income threshold to Rs 10 lakh. This move is seen as a significant step towards easing the financial burden on the middle class. Additionally, the organizations have called for an agriculture-specific package, an extension of MGNREGA work days to 200, quicker GST refunds, and a comprehensive manufacturing strategy to counter Chinese imports.
Voices from the Ground
Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), led by Pawan Kumar, has been vocal about the need for extended MGNREGA workdays and a dedicated package for labor-intensive sectors. Their demands also include the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission and a preference for OPS over NPS and UPS, alongside tax exemptions for pensioners.
Laghu Udyog Bharati has emphasized the importance of faster GST refund processing and the introduction of an amnesty program for minor GST filing errors. Meanwhile, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh is advocating for GST exemptions on farming inputs and direct fertilizer subsidy transfers to farmers' accounts.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch's Vision
The economic division of RSS, represented by Ashwini Mahajan, has highlighted the pressing issue of trade imbalance with China. They are pushing for robust manufacturing policies, including tariffs and trade measures to bolster domestic production.
As the nation awaits the unveiling of Budget 2025, these proposals offer a glimpse into the potential shifts in India's economic policies. With the middle class at the heart of these discussions, the upcoming budget could mark a pivotal moment in the country's financial trajectory.
