Toyota's Remarkable Sales Growth in 2024
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has reported a significant 3.7% increase in US sales for the year 2024, with a total of 2,332,623 vehicles sold. Despite a slight decline in the fourth quarter and December, Toyota proudly maintained its position as the top US retail brand for the 13th consecutive year.
Electrified Vehicles: A New Era for Toyota
Electrified vehicle (EV) sales have seen an unprecedented surge, growing by a record-breaking 53%. This remarkable growth has pushed the sales of electrified vehicles beyond one million units, accounting for 43% of Toyota's total sales. The company's commitment to electrification is evident through its $21 billion investment in the US since 2020, offering a diverse range of 30 electrified models.
Looking Ahead: Toyota's Strategic Plans for 2025
Jack Hollis, TMNA's COO, emphasized the success of Toyota's multi-powertrain strategy and its robust product pipeline for 2025. The company plans to introduce 24 new or refreshed models and is set to commence new battery production at its $13.9 billion North Carolina plant, further solidifying Toyota's position in the electrified vehicle market.
