China Dominates Global Electric Vehicle Market with Record 70% Sales Share

China Leads the Charge in Global NEV Sales

In an unprecedented show of dominance, China has captured 70% of the global new-energy vehicle (NEV) market, as revealed by Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), on Thursday. This remarkable achievement underscores China's pivotal role in the electric vehicle revolution.

Unmatched Growth in the Chinese NEV Market

From January to November 2024, seven out of every ten NEVs delivered worldwide were manufactured in China. This statistic not only highlights China's manufacturing prowess but also its significant contribution to reducing global carbon emissions. The CPCA head further noted that the Chinese NEV market's growth rate has consistently outpaced the global average, with its share in the global market escalating from 52% in 2021 to an impressive 69.6% by the end of November 2024.
