Record-Breaking Sales for Mahindra & Mahindra

In an impressive display of growth, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M Ltd.) announced a 16% increase in total automotive sales for December 2024, selling 69,768 units. This remarkable achievement underscores the company's robust performance in the automotive sector.

Domestic and International Success

The company's domestic sales in the utility vehicle category soared by 18%, reaching 41,424 vehicles. Including exports, the total sales for this category were 42,958 vehicles. The commercial vehicle domestic sales also saw a significant rise, totaling 19,502 units.

Leadership in Sustainability

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., highlighted the company's achievement of becoming the only Indian auto company to attain the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) world leader status within the auto sector. This prestigious ranking is a testament to M&M's commitment to ESG performance.

Farm Equipment Sector Growth

December 2024 also marked a 22% increase in domestic sales for the farm equipment sector, with 22,019 units sold. The total tractor sales, including exports, reached 22,943 units, compared to 19,138 units in the previous year. Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector, attributed this growth to positive agricultural sentiments and favorable terms of trade for farmers.
