Addressing Healthcare Accessibility
The initiative seeks to mitigate the challenges faced by beneficiaries, who currently need to visit railway hospitals and health units in person for treatment and medication. By leveraging eSanjeevani - India's National Telemedicine Service - alongside the proposed home delivery system, Indian Railways aims to streamline healthcare access for its 10 million beneficiaries, comprising railway staff, retirees, and their families.

The medicine delivery service will operate through RailTel's Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), which already facilitates various healthcare management tasks.
