Pilots Demand Transparency and Safety Assurance

In a bold move, a group of Akasa Air pilots has raised serious concerns over the airline's training practices. Following the suspension of two senior officials by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), these pilots are now demanding a comprehensive audit to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.

Union Formation and Regulatory Action

Amidst these concerns, the pilots have also informed the civil aviation ministry and DGCA about their intentions to form a pilots' union. This comes as the DGCA has issued 10 showcause notices to Akasa Air for various alleged irregularities, highlighting the growing tensions between the airline and its pilots.

Akasa Air, which has been operational for over two years and boasts a fleet of 26 aircraft with approximately 870 pilots, has previously dismissed claims regarding its training practices as unfounded.
