Tokyo's Inflation Surge: Consumer Prices Jump to 3% in December

In a recent report released by the Statistics Bureau of Japan, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Tokyo's Ku-area has shown a significant increase. December's figures reveal a 3% rise over the year, aligning with market expectations.

This marks a 0.4 percentage point increase from November's year-on-year data, where the CPI for the nation's capital was recorded at a 2.6% improvement.

Furthermore, the CPI excluding fresh food and energy, as well as the index excluding only fresh food, both experienced a 2.4% increase over the year.
