Ford Motor Company Announces Recall of 11,922 F-150 Lightning Vehicles
Ford Motor Company is taking a safety-first approach by recalling 11,922 vehicles in the United States. This decision comes after the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identified an issue with the front upper control arm ball joint nut. The problem could potentially lead to a loss of steering control, posing a significant risk to drivers.
The recall specifically targets certain 2023-2024 F-150 Lightning BEV vehicles. According to the NHTSA, "The front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly." This detachment could result in a loss of vehicle steering and control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford dealerships will address this issue by inspecting the affected parts. If necessary, they will replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly free of charge to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicles.
