IMF Extends Financial Support to Ukraine
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has concluded its sixth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement for Ukraine, approving a $1.1 billion allocation to support the war-torn country's budget. This financial assistance aims to bolster Ukraine's economy, which the IMF has described as "resilient" despite the ongoing conflict with Russia.
The IMF emphasized that Ukraine's economic stability hinges on implementing necessary reforms, enhancing revenue mobilization, and securing external financial support. Since the EFF arrangement was approved by the board of directors in 2023, Ukraine has received a total of $9.8 billion from the IMF.
This latest funding underscores the international community's commitment to supporting Ukraine in its economic recovery and stability efforts amidst the challenging geopolitical environment.
