Asia-Pacific Markets Mostly Up as Investors Eye Japan's Trade Data and BoJ Decision

Asia-Pacific Markets Mostly Higher

On Wednesday, major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region mostly traded higher as investors assessed Japan's recent trade data ahead of the Bank of Japan's (BoJ) rate decision later this week.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.31% at 3:01 am CET, followed by South Korea's Kospi Composite which rose 0.88% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped by 0.74% at 3:03 am CET. Meanwhile, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite rose by 0.84%, and the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.29% at 3:04 am CET. However, Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 0.15% at 3:05 am CET.

The dollar traded 0.07% higher against the yen, reaching ¥153.6255 at 3:06 am CET.
