Techwave Expands in Hyderabad: New Delivery Center and AI Hub Aiming for 6,000 Employees

Global IT and engineering solutions provider, Techwave, has inaugurated its second global delivery center (GDC) in Hyderabad, along with an AI Engineering Hub. This strategic move is part of the company's plan to increase its headcount in India to approximately 6,000 by 2027.

The new facility, spanning over 1 lakh square feet in the financial district, has the capacity to house around 1,200 people, including the 100-seater AI engineering hub designed to serve over 300 global clients. Currently, Techwave employs around 3,300 globally, with 2,000 of these based in Telangana at its GDCs in Hyderabad and Khammam.

Future Plans and Growth

Techwave, headquartered in Houston with a presence in Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Hungary, plans to establish a facility in Warangal by Q1 2025. The company aims to have a headcount of 1,000 each in Warangal and Khammam within the next 2-3 years. By 2027, Techwave intends to house 6,000 employees in India out of its expected global headcount of 7,000.

In Khammam, Techwave is looking to increase its headcount to 800-1,000 over the next year from the current 400, focusing on supporting global clients in telecom and utilities with technologies such as 5G, data analytics, and data integration. The teams in Hyderabad will concentrate on digital transformation, building interfaces, data lakes, and application modernization. The newly launched AI Engineering Hub will develop proof of concept (PoC) for clients across sectors including fintech, manufacturing, life sciences, telecom, and utilities.
