TSMC's First Japanese Plant on Track for Mass Production
Yuichi Horita, President of Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc., revealed on Friday that the inaugural plant of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) in Japan is set to commence mass production by the end of 2024.
Horita emphasized that the Kumamoto facility has already matched the production quality of TSMC's operations in Taiwan, marking a significant milestone for Japan's semiconductor industry.
Furthermore, the company has announced plans to start the construction of a second Kumamoto plant in early 2025, signaling a robust expansion strategy that aims to further strengthen Japan's position in the global semiconductor market.
