European Commission Announces Bond Issuance Plan for 2025
The European Commission has revealed its intention to issue up to €90 billion worth of bonds in the first half of 2025. This move aims to continue driving the EU's recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, strengthen the resilience of its economy, and support neighbouring partners such as Ukraine and the Western Balkans.
Funding Recovery and Resilience
The funds raised through these EU-Bond issuances will play a crucial role in supporting the EU's economic recovery and resilience. By providing financial resources, the Commission aims to bolster economic stability and foster growth across the region.
2024 and 2025 Bond Issuance
In 2024, the European Union successfully raised €138 billion by selling bonds. Anticipating a similar response, the Commission plans to issue approximately €160 billion in bonds for the year 2025, further demonstrating its commitment to economic recovery and support for its neighbours.
