Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Announces Major Leadership Changes

In a strategic move to enhance its global operations and address current challenges more effectively, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced a significant reshuffling of its management team, effective January 1, 2024.

Stephen Ma has been appointed as the Chairman of the China Management Committee, taking over from his previous role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ma's new focus will be on shaping the future strategy for the region and enhancing local operations.

Replacing Ma as CFO is Jeremie Papin, who previously served as the Chairman of the Americas Management Committee. Nissan has also named Christian Meunier, former Jeep CEO and a member of the Stellantis Executive Committee, to replace Papin in his former position.

Nissan President and CEO Makoto Uchida expressed confidence in the new appointments, stating, "These leadership appointments will bring the necessary experience and urgency to the countermeasures we are taking to get the company back on track."
