US Wholesale Inventories Show a Slight Uptick in October
According to the latest report from the US Census Bureau, wholesale inventories in the United States experienced a 0.2% increase in October compared to September's revised figures, reaching a total of $905 billion. This figure aligns with the expectations of analysts.
Year-on-year, total inventories rose by 0.9%. Meanwhile, the sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $675.1 billion in October. This represents a 0.1% decrease from September's revised figure and a 0.9% increase from the same period in the previous year.
Based on seasonally adjusted data, the inventory-to-sales ratio was 1.34, down from 1.35 in the prior month, indicating a slight improvement in the inventory management efficiency.
