TikTok Looks to Supreme Court for Reversal of US Ban

TikTok expressed its anticipation on Friday that the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) will overturn a recent ruling by an appeals court that upheld the federal prohibition on the short-video social media platform within American soil.

The social media platform emphasized the Supreme Court's historical commitment to protecting Americans' right to free speech, stating, "We expect they will do just that on this important constitutional issue."

Earlier, the appeals court for the District of Columbia Circuit dismissed TikTok's efforts to challenge a law requiring the platform to be banned unless its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, divests its ownership stake in the app.
