China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has launched an investigation into Nvidia Corporation's business practices.
The probe was announced on Monday and focuses on potential violations of China's anti-monopoly regulations by the company. This investigation comes amid allegations that Nvidia may have committed violations during its acquisition of computer parts supplier Mellanox Technologies Ltd.
Nvidia's purchase of Mellanox in 2020 was approved by antitrust agencies in China, the European Union, and the United States. However, the European Commission is also reportedly planning a similar probe into Nvidia's antitrust activities, as previously reported by Reuters.
