Yoo Ah In's Itaewon Property Sale: A Strategic Move Amid Legal Troubles?

Yoo Ah In's Property Sale Raises Eyebrows

South Korean actor Yoo Ah In has recently sold his Itaewon property for 6.3 billion won, which is 1.7 billion won less than its estimated value of 8 billion won three years ago, as reported by News 1. The sale, completed in November 2024, has sparked speculation about the actor's financial motives, particularly as he is currently serving a prison sentence.

Yoo, who purchased the 418-square-meter property in 2016 for 5.8 billion won, has not commented on the sale through his representatives. The property gained significant attention after being featured on the MBC show "I Live Alone" in 2020. However, it has faced legal issues since 2017 due to an unauthorized expansion of 10.8 square meters on the ground floor, which Yoo has yet to restore to its original condition.

The 38-year-old actor, known for his roles in popular television dramas and films, was sentenced to one year in prison in September 2024 for the illegal use of the anesthetic drug propofol. "I am sorry for having caused concern to many people," Yoo was quoted as saying in court by Yonhap.
