Amazon Smashes Holiday Sales Records: Alexa Devices and More Fly Off Shelves

Amazon's Thanksgiving Shopping Event Breaks Records

Amazon.com Inc. has announced that its Black Friday week and Cyber Monday deal event was the biggest Thanksgiving holiday shopping event ever.

Sales of Alexa-enabled devices, including the newest Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick 4K models, climbed to millions from November 21 through December 2. The company also revealed that 60% of sales in Amazon's stores during those days were from independent sellers, including popular brands like JLab, Blissy, Luxe Weavers, and The Woobles.

Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, said, "We know how much our customers appreciate saving money, and our customers saved billions with us during this year's holiday shopping event."
