In a sign of resilience, Germany's economy recorded a 0.2% growth in the first quarter of 2024, according to preliminary data released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Wednesday. This growth, adjusted for price, seasonal, and calendar effects, highlights a cautious optimism in Europe's largest economy.

Year-on-Year and Month-on-Month Comparisons

Despite the quarterly uptick, the GDP saw a 0.4% decline compared to the same period in the previous year. Additionally, a slight 0.2% decrease was observed on a month-on-month basis, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by the economy.
