
Santander's Financial Growth in Q1 2025
Banco Santander has kicked off 2025 on a high note, announcing a 1% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching €15.5 billion in the first quarter. This growth is attributed to the addition of 9 million new customers, expanding its global customer base to 175 million.
Profit and Performance Highlights
The bank's profit saw a significant 19% rise to €3.4 billion, fueled by higher fee income and effective cost management. Earnings per share also experienced a 26% increase, standing at €0.21. Santander remains committed to its 2025 objectives, including €62 billion in revenue, a RoTE of 16.5%, and a CET1 ratio of 13%.

"Our global businesses are performing exceptionally well, reflecting the success of our transformation efforts and our continuous drive to enhance operational efficiency," stated Executive Chair Ana Botín. She highlighted the 26% uplift in earnings per share and the increase in RoTE to 15.8% as key achievements in the first quarter of 2025.
