Tesla's Bold Move into Electric Semi Truck Production

Tesla, Inc. is making significant strides in the electric vehicle sector by ramping up its electric Semi truck production. According to a recent report by Business Insider, the company is hiring over 1,000 workers at its new Nevada plant. This expansion marks a pivotal step towards achieving Tesla's ambitious production targets.

From Pilot to Mass Production

Previously, the Semi project was a small-scale operation with fewer than 100 employees, primarily based at a pilot site in California. However, the recent influx of new recruits at the Giga Sparks facility in Nevada signifies Tesla's commitment to scaling up its operations. These new employees are currently undergoing training and orientation, preparing for the upcoming production phase.

Production Goals and Timeline

Dan Priestley, the head of Semi development, recently shared insights into Tesla's production capabilities. The Nevada plant is designed to produce up to 50,000 units annually, with the first trucks expected to be manufactured by late 2025. Production will gradually increase, reaching full capacity by 2026.
